A Creative Pause

A rustic, meadow-inspired floral aisle arrangement featuring a variety of autumnal flowers and foliage, including dahlias, hydrangeas, and grasses. The natural, flowing design lines a stone floor with clusters of flowers spilling over the sides. Lit candles are scattered along the aisle, adding a warm and inviting atmosphere.

After an incredibly busy season, the Featherstone team recently took a few days to reconnect with the essence of what we do best – creating stunning, natural floral arrangements from our field and beyond. It was a chance to unwind and indulge in some creative exploration.

Locally foraged rose hips spill over the aisle

Over the course of these lovely days, we harvested an array of seasonal flowers and foraged beautiful long branches of dog rose, with their striking hips. The richness of autumn was truly on display, as we gathered foliage tinged with golden hues, soft grasses swaying in the breeze, and flowers such as rudbeckia, dahlias, hydrangea, and the delicate acidanthera.

Our setting for this creative escape was the beautiful carriage room at Kingsettle Stud, where we transformed the space with large floral installations. We started by crafting a meadow-like aisle, with flowers spilling along the ground, echoing the wild beauty of the field. At the top of the aisle, we placed a dramatic centrepiece, using a mix of urns and plinths to display the arrangements, all coming together in a natural, flowing design that celebrated the changing season.

It was a deeply satisfying experience for the team to work with such a variety of textures, colours, and shapes, embracing autumn's abundance. The results were both rustic and elegant, with the arrangements blending beautifully into the surroundings.

The pause to create, reflect, and celebrate the beauty of seasonal flowers reminded us why we do what we do—bringing nature’s charm indoors in the most captivating ways.
