Join us to learn about all aspects of growing, harvesting, conditioning and arranging with cut flowers throughout the year at our much loved Featherstone’s Flower Club.
 
Whether you're a novice or a seasoned enthusiast, we will share our years of expertise in Floriculture and eco-friendly Floral Design methods so you feel confident growing and arranging your own cut flowers at home.
 
Sessions will usually involve a hands-on discussion in the field on the topic for the month, with a practical guide to harvesting the wide variety of stems available, before bringing them back to the stunning Tithe Barn.
 
There you will be taught how to condition and arrange your flowers focusing on a different technique each session to celebrate the best of the seasonal blooms available. You will be led through a variety of floral arrangements including individual designs and large group installations.
 
Refreshments will be served with delicious locally made cakes and biscuits. At the end of the session, you are welcome to take your flowers home.
 
Flower Club starts at the beginning of April and we run nine sessions. Your purchase buys you eight of these sessions as we know that there is usually something which prevents you from attending during the year.
 
We will be running morning and evening sessions, once a month on a Monday, which you are able to swap between to best suit you. Morning sessions start at 0930 and evening sessions start at 1830 and last around 2.5 hours.
 
New members receive their own bucket, snips and guide to sustainable floristry mechanics. Returning members can use their discount for the following year's club.
 
Each month you will receive notes on the subjects discussed within the session.

Floristry: The fundamentals of harvesting and conditioning flowers. Create your own vase arrangement to take home. Vase included.

Field & Growing: Discussion on planting out and what and how to do The Chelsea Chop
Floristry: Meadow inspired arrangements using re-useable vessels
 
June
Field & Growing: Sowing biennials and late summer annuals
Floristry: A low bowl arrangement, bowl included
 
July
Field & Growing: Feeding, watering, staking
Floristry: Group session, creating flower clouds suspended from the barn beams.
 
August
Field & Growing: Bulbs - ordering & preparing to plant. What to sow now.
Floristry: Creating a hand-tied bouquet - achieving the perfect spiral!
 
September
Field & Growing: Sowing & dividing perennials to increase your plants
Floristry: Group session, creating a dramatic floral archway in the doors of our fabulous barn.
 
October
Field & Growing: Starting anemones and ranunculus
Floristry: Creating your own dried flower wreath to take home and keep for years.
 
November
Field & Growing: Soil care for healthy soil and a booming microbiome!
Floristry: Create an autumn mantlepiece arrangements - learn & practice and apply at home!
 
December
End the year with a festive flower club making your Christmas wreath or table arrangement with drinks and nibbles to celebrate the year of flowers!
